Occuparmi di turismo è una cosa che ha solleticato la mia curiosità per molto tempo. Appena si è presentata l’opportunità di provarci ho deciso dunque di creare Gentes B&B.

L’idea che mi ero fatto su questo tipo di attività mi piaceva e dopo essermi occupato di web ed innovazione professionalemnte ho deciso di virare bruscamente.

In realtà riscontro molte similitudini tra il modello di sviluppo proposto dalle economie di rete e un turismo basato su una ricettività polverizzata sul territorio e di carattere “individuale”.

Una rete diffusa di b&b offre una via sostenibile al turismo, specie in quelle città d’arte come Roma in cui l’affluenza è rilevante e ha un impatto notevole sull’economia della città e sulla sua vivibilità.

A dispetto del nome, un bed and breakfast, può essere molto di più di un letto pulito ed una buona colazione.

E’ un occasione di scambio culturale, di promozione locale ma anche un luogo per conoscere la destinazione che si sta visitando da un punto di vista unico e “personale”: quello del gestore.

Non esiste servizio tecnologico o tradizionale che può ofrire informazioni aggiornate ed affidabili sulla realtà locale come quelle che offre la persona che vive nella stessa struttura che ospita il turista.

Il meteo osservato, la viabilità, cosa vedere, dove mangiare, in che “clima” culturale e sociale si visiterà la città, com scoprire i tesori che nasconde.

Il blog è il miglior strumento per raccogliere tutta questa informazione e conoscenza e per mantenere i rapporti con una clientela che solitamente si discosta dai cliché del turismo di massa.

Il blog è anche un ottimo modo per promuoversi ed espandere la propria rete personale conoscendo altri gestori di b&b e nuovi turisti.

I’ve been always intrigued by tourism sector . So as soon as I could I started up gentes b&b.

I believe in b&b as an easy to mange and valuable way fot sustainable tourism. I studied net economies for several years and b&b can be considered the building block of a networked accomodation system.

Despite its name a b&b is more than a confortable and clean bed and “cappuccino and cornetto” (croissant) after you waked up.
It can be cultural exchange,friendship, local development and the best way to discover your “destination” coming in touch with inkeepers point of view. You’ll experience your destination not only visit it.

There is no trip advisor more efficent than who live in your destination.

Taking the right and updated informations about mobility, culture, lifestyle and so on, it could not be easier: just ask to the innkeeper.

The same things we can say about blogging. Blogs are the natural way to promote your b&b and stay in touch with your guests.

Through this blog I’ll try to tell stories about Rome, give updated informations that can be useful for tourists, offer my personal point of view about Rome and learn with people more about the city I live.
